Bring your Slack conversations into the work your team is already doing in scopivon.

‍Connect Slack in scopivon · Read the Slack docs

‍
scopivon connects to Slack through Slack's standard OAuth flow. You pick the workspace, and scopivon only ever sees the conversations your own Slack account can already see.
What scopivon is

scopivon is an AI teammate for professional services and delivery teams. It plans engagements, drafts and edits documents, keeps project context in one place, and answers questions using the systems your team already works in.

Slack is where most of that context actually lives: the decision in a project channel, the client's answer in a DM, the caveat buried in a thread. scopivon for Slack lets you use that context without leaving the work, and lets you send the result back to the people who need it.

What scopivon does in Slack

Once you connect Slack, the scopivon agent gains four Slack capabilities, and nothing else.

Find the right conversation.
scopivon can list the channels, group conversations, and direct messages your Slack account belongs to, so you can point it at the right place.
Read a conversation.
scopivon can read the messages in a conversation you choose, including the replies inside a specific thread, and use them to answer your question.
Search your Slack.
Ask scopivon to search Slack and it returns matching message excerpts with permalinks back to the original message, so you can jump straight to the source.
Send a message.
When you ask scopivon to send something, it posts to the conversation you named, or as a reply in a thread.

When scopivon uses a Slack message to answer a question or draft a document, it cites that message and links back to it in Slack. You can always check where an answer came from.

Reads happen on demand, in response to something you asked. scopivon does not continuously sync, mirror, index, archive, or export your Slack workspace.

What triggers a message in Slack

The only thing that ever posts to Slack is you asking scopivon to.

#1
You make a request in an scopivon chat session, for example "send this status summary to #project-acme".
scopivon drafts the message and confirms the destination.
The message is posted from your own Slack account, because scopivon uses your Slack user authorization rather than a bot identity.
Every message scopivon posts carries a short Sent using scopivon attribution, so it is always clear in Slack how the message got there.

Sending can also be set to require approval. In that mode scopivon shows you the destination and the exact text, and waits for you to approve before anything is posted. Your scopivon administrator controls this in Settings, under Account, then Tools.

Nothing else in scopivon posts to Slack. No notifications, no digests, no automated status updates, no scheduled posts, and nothing triggered by activity elsewhere in scopivon.

What scopivon does not do
#1
scopivon does not join channels on its own. It only sees conversations your Slack account is already a member of.
scopivon does not use your Slack data to train large language models.
scopivon does not post to Slack unless you asked it to.
How to install and connect scopivon for Slack

scopivon's Add to Slack button lives inside the scopivon app, behind sign in, because a Slack connection is tied to an individual scopivon user account inside an scopivon organization. Here is how to reach it.

Step 1
Sign in to scopivon at app.scopivon.com. If you do not have an account yet, book a demo or ask your scopivon administrator for an invitation.
Step 2
Open Settings, then Account, then Integrations. You can go straight there: app.scopivon.com/settings/account/integrations.
Step 3
Find the Slack card in the integrations catalog. You can filter the catalog to narrow the list.
Step 4
Click Connect on the Slack card. This is scopivon's Add to Slack action.
Step 5
Slack's own authorization screen opens. Choose the workspace you want to connect and review the permissions scopivon is requesting.
Step 6
Click Allow. Slack returns you to scopivon, and the Slack card now shows as connected.
Step 7
Open a chat session in scopivon, make sure Slack is enabled in your tool preferences, and ask scopivon something that uses Slack.

If you do not see the Slack card, your scopivon organization has not enabled Slack yet. Slack availability has three layers, and all three have to be on: your organization allows the Slack tools, your user account is connected to Slack, and Slack is enabled in your own tool preferences. Ask your scopivon administrator to enable Slack for the organization.

To disconnect, open the same integrations page and disconnect Slack on the Slack card. scopivon revokes the token with Slack immediately and loses all access.

Step by step screenshots and troubleshooting live in the Slack integration documentation.

Permissions scopivon requests, and why

scopivon requests Slack user token scopes. scopivon acts as you, and can never see more in Slack than you can.

Required scopes
Permission
Why scopivon needs it
channels:read, groups:read, im:read, mpim:read
List the public channels, private channels, group DMs, and DMs you belong to, so you can choose which conversation scopivon should use.
channels:history, groups:history, im:history, mpim:history
Read the messages and thread replies in a conversation you point scopivon at, so it can answer your question and cite its sources.
search:read.public, search:read.private, search:read.im, search:read.mpim
Run the Slack searches you ask for, across the conversations you already have access to.
users:read
Resolve Slack user IDs into display names, so quoted messages and search results are readable instead of showing raw IDs.
chat:write
Send a message when you explicitly ask scopivon to send one.

scopivon requests no admin permissions, no file permissions, and nothing that would let it add itself to conversations you are not in.

A note on AI

scopivon is an AI product and uses large language models. AI generated content can be inaccurate or incomplete, including summaries of Slack conversations and drafts of Slack messages that scopivon proposes to send. Review anything scopivon produces before you rely on it or send it. scopivon cites the Slack messages it used so you can check the source, and decisions always stay with a person. scopivon does not use your Slack data to train large language models.

Security and your data
Authorization.
scopivon connects to Slack using Slack's OAuth 2.0 flow. The resulting token is scoped to your Slack user and stored encrypted. scopivon never asks for your Slack password.
Scope of access.
scopivon can only reach the conversations your own Slack account can reach. Connecting Slack in scopivon does not widen anyone's access in Slack.
On demand only.
scopivon calls Slack when a request in one of your scopivon sessions needs it. There is no background crawl and no mirrored copy of your workspace.
What is kept.
Slack content that scopivon used to answer a question stays in that scopivon chat session, together with the citation back to Slack, and is retained for as long as the session exists in your scopivon organization.
Revocation.
Disconnecting Slack in scopivon revokes the token with Slack right away.

Our privacy policy explains what data scopivon collects, how it is used, how long it is kept, and how to request access to, transfer of, or deletion of your data.
